There are various reasons that musicians want to create their own midi files:

• To have accompaniment music when practicing.
• As a composer to have a demo of a new song.
• As a composer to listen to a new song played in different musical styles.
• ...

But creating good(!) sounding midi files is a very difficult task which requires a lot of experience, if done in the traditional way.
With Producer (a program for PCs running Microsoft Windows²) this task is dramatically easier for owners of a YAMAHA¹ keyboard.

To create a midi file for accompaniment it only requires to select a keyboard style and to enter the sequence of chord symbols (no knowledge of individual notes is necessary), just by using the mouse.
After this the result can immediately be audited by playing it directly from Producer.

Optional the user can enhance the result by

• selecting the style sections to be used in the different parts of the song
• modifying the tempo
• changing the tempo throughout the song
• mute, solo or adjust the volume of style parts
• fading in/out the accompaniment
• adding lyrics text
• transposing the song
• ...

Additionally when using a sequencer or utility program together with Producer it is possible to

• add melody tracks (there are 8 free tracks to be used)
• change or add all parameters of a midi file

So with Producer not only someone can create midi files in an easy way, it also provides the possibility for unlimited enhancement and fine tuning.

Producer runs on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7/8/10 (32bit and 64bit) using 1024 X 768 and better screen resolution.
It provides full support for Tyros 1/2/3/4/5, Genos, PSR-1500, PSR-2000, PSR-3000, PSR-A3000, PSR-S670, PSR-S750, PSR-S770, PSR-S900, PSR-S950, PSR-S970, PSR-S975, PSR-SX600, PSR-SX700 and PSR-SX900 keyboards.
It can be used with other instruments with some restrictions.

To get most out of Producer a YAMAHA¹ keyboard is required, which has a MIDI connection to the PC.

• Use Start/Control Panel/Uninstall and remove all exiting versions of Producer prior to version 3.9.4.
• Download the producer full package (version 3.15.0).
• Unzip the downloaded file to an empty folder.
• Right click on Setup.exe and select "Run as Administrator".

Note: Since the recent update of Windows 10, Producer has to be executed in "Windows Vista compatibility mode". Since Producer version 3.9.7 the installation routine will take care of this. Therefore updating Producer is recommended. If older versions of Producer are used on Windows 10, changing the compatibility mode has to be done manually.
